Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is on the way. I have no idea where the time went. As the time has slipped by there have been a few programs that we have put in place and I would like to tell you about them now. The first is the Plan/Do/Check/Act, Enrichment/Tutorial program. Thanks to Kelly Hargrove, it is going gangbusters. Kelly is the one who has made this run so smooth through her organizational skills and I would like to thank her for it. Next week, before the Parent/Teacher conferences, we are having an in-service to look at what we are doing and what can be improved. Still, it was very flattering to have another area school (Berrien Springs) come to visit the program. A reporter and photographer were here from the South Bend Tribune, so I expect an article in the near future.
In addition, we have done some home visits to help students who are struggling academically. We have started a program to help assist students with making sure they get their homework on time (for some students, that has meant doing their homework during lunchtime). We are getting ready to set up a trophy case so students can showcase the work they are doing in the classroom. We have filled one wall with positive referrals and have started filling a second. The list seems endless, but it is 5:30 on Thursday, and I need to get home. Please, call me, come tour the building, I would love the chance to show off our students, teachers, staff and the wonderful things that go on here every day. The number is 445-0541, or just stop by.
