The Blog is Back!




I had such a busy week last week, I was unable to get here, but we're up and running now. Today I am taking you to Mrs. Wellman's science class. The students are making batteries with a strip of zinc, a strip of copper, and a small amount of weak acid, but rather than tell you about it, why don't we let them tell you themselves:

  • Friday the 18th is Parent/Teacher Conference Day. No school for students. Teachers are available in their rooms from 9-11:30 and 12:30-3:00. Let's Talk!
  • On Saturday, the 19th, Mr. Francisco will have an open gym for 7th and 8th graders to play football.
  • We are celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday on Monday the 21st, so there will be no school for students.
  • On Tuesday, the 22nd, there will be after-school tutoring available in the library from 3:00 to 4:00. Come with your books and homework ready to go.
  • On Saturday the 26th, the Afro-club will have a Talent show. Call Mrs. Haines at 445-0508 for more information.
  • On Monday, the 28th at 8:30 the students in tenth grade will be receiving career information in preparation for a career fair next month. This fair is put on by Lewis Cass ISD for all the schools in the county.
  • On Wednesday, the 30th, a team of two teachers, the counselor, the superintendent, and myself will go to Lansing to be trained in how to assure all students, across all our sub-groups, receive an equal opportunity at college level preparatory coursework. Call me for more information. 445-0541
