Who says art is messy?

OK, maybe art can be a little messy, but that doesn't mean it has to be disorganized!. In Mrs. Johnson's classroom things are very organized. Due dates for projects decorate the walls next to exactly how many points each part of the project is worth, and the students love it! Knowing what has to be done and when it is due helps students stay focused and energized about what they are doing and that translates to real learning.
Mrs. Johnson was seeing so much learning that she connected with Kendall College of Art (which is connected to Ferris State in Big Rapids). She is now able to offer college credit classes to those students who are interested in a career in art after school right in our building. Best of all, it is free to our students!
Mrs. Johnson has also beautified our school with student artwork, helping students plan and execute a mural in the school conference and covering our hallway ceiling tiles with projects from her enrichment "Michelangelo comes to Ross Beatty." Our art program keeps growing stronger, and we are happy to have her lead that.
