Haiti Relief Fund A BIG Success!

The JAG class put together a Haiti Relief Fund and in two weeks, despite our own economic hardships, were able to gather the following:
263 pairs of pants
86 dresses/skirts
21 coats
18 belts and hats
26 pairs of socks
25 pairs of shoes
511 shirts
58 outfits
213 hygiene products
13 toys
63 medical items
49 blankets and towels
202 food/drink items

and... $1071.84
All of these items were picked up by the Salvation Army and are on their way to provide some small relief.
We have much to be proud of in this district. Our ACT scores keep improving, we have a Nationally ranked FFA team, our athletics programs are thriving, our fine and performing arts programs keep getting better, our teachers are so good that I want my children to graduate from here, and so many more things I can't hope to list them all. Still, the thing I am most proud of right now is that our students are part of the world community. They know it, and they care. I love this district!

Math Focus

I can use data to find the mean, median and mode. The mean is also called the average. The median is called the middle number. The mode is the number that occurs the most.

I can summarize and paraphrase what I read by putting it in my own words.
