FFA, Wrestling and the MME

This past week we had a lot going on. John Grice got to ring the bell as he left for the Individual State Wrestling Competition. In addition, we sent several teams to compete at the state level for FFA. I held off on posting this until I had the results, and here they are! John earned a medal by placing eighth in the state! We are very proud of him! FFA Jr. High Conduct of Meetings and the Agricultural Issues both placed second in the state. Desiree Massey and Ashley Rogers both received gold for the Public Speaking and Creed competition respectively. James Spaulding and Carmelita Peake both were invited to apply for the national choir and Tina Stutzman was invited to apply for the national band. Our biggest news is that Ryan Green was elected as Treasurer for the State and the Cassopolis Parliamentary Procedure team won state and will be competing at the national level this October! Cassopolis continues a long tradition of being the one to beat in whatever competition we enter and we couldn't be more proud.

Today, March 11th, is the first day of our MME test for the Juniors. We held a short assembly yesterday to cheer them on and had a guest speaker, Rev. Tony Thomas, speak to them on the importance of academics. The students enjoyed what he had to say and cheered enthusiastically as he left the stage. It starts with the ACT at 8:00 AM so all Juniors should get a good night's sleep and be ready for breakfast at 7:35 in the school cafeteria.
